Back to the podium at our favourite track!

Leaving Mid-Ohio we were feeling really good with our progress. The car was finally in place where it was doing all the things we wanted it to and we had managed to finally unlock the potential we felt this car has had since last year. Leaving Mid-Ohio our next track was one of my favorites of the season Lime Rock Park in Connecticut.

I don't know what it is about this race track but ever since we've been coming here in 2022 it's just "clicked" with me as a driver and for whatever version of the car we bring. This year was truly no different, right out of the gate we were close to matching our record time and sitting in 2nd place in trackmod. Each session we were positioned at the front of group A and we just kept chipping away at our time getting closer and closer to our record time of 54.7.

The car ran flawlessly all weekend, we had a few small issues to fix on Friday night but nothing major and mostly just routine things. This race track has some unbelievable compression zones which meant we wore through our splitter and broke one of the diffusers. I managed to find 80% of the pieces after riding around the track on my scooter and we were able to rebuild the diffuser enough that it didn't really affect the cars performance.

As we headed out for our final session of the event we were about 2 tenths off our record and I knew it was now or never. We had made some adjustments to our wing to try and pick up some mile per hour on the straight but we knew it was going to be hard to run our fastest lap in the heat of the day with a track surface that had been abused all day.

I headed out for the session leading the pack in group A which mean nothing but clear track ahead of me, thanks to all our cooling system upgrades and fixes I was able to turn lap after lap chasing that record lap and though I didn't break it, I managed to get ourselves within 1 tenth of a second running a 54.8 for the weekend which was a huge accomplishment for me. I left the track feeling really proud of the laps I had turned, I had left nothing on the table and I honestly felt like there wasn't much more I could have done, I managed to beat my min speeds in all the important corners vs my record lap and just missed out on the record due to not having the grip in the final corner and having to pedal things on exit.

All this hard work meant we finished 2nd on the podium, our first podium finish of 2025 which was a huge milestone for me. It's funny as this track was our first podium the first time we came here in 2022 as well. With how well things went at this event, I've made the decision to continue our season a little further.

I've made the decision to make the long trip back to Laguna Seca, California again this year. Last year I feel like we didn't get a chance to really show our true potential at this track and we're not far off 3rd place in the GridLife championship, making this event and placing well is an opportunity for us to finish the season strong. We've worked so hard to get the car into the position we're in now and I want to keep pushing and see how strong we can finish the season off.

This is a big trip for us, it's almost 10,000kms for us to make this trip but it's really important for me to make these big events and do these long hauls to really get the car to as may events as we can in a season, without all of your support these types of trips couldn't be possible so I really wanted to thank everyone for all your support this season. Stay tuned for some updates as we prepare for the next event.
