These kits were designed to work with a K20 or K24
The K-Tuned Universal Swirl Pot, designed in collaboration with Unit2 Fabrication, is used to constantly offer separation of air/steam from the water/coolant in your engine cooling system. A swirl pot is installed inline of your upper rad hose that feeds coolant to the engine and is used to eliminate any air trapped or generated in the system by allowing coolant to flow into the tank and "Swirl" around the walls as it falls to the bottom allowing air to escape through the center and away from the coolant. This setup in combination with a good rad and fan setup, is highly recommended in the battle with high coolant temps during track days.
This unit is universal and can be used in basically any setup, given its various features allowing adjustability. The two halves of the tank are double o-ring sealed, and can be separated and rotated to allow the inlet/outlet to be set in multiple positions. The rad cap can also be adjusted to give proper orientation of the overflow port. Two 1/8th NPT ports are provided next to the inlet and outlets which can be used to attach a feed line directly to any problem areas in your system where air would be prone to getting trapped There is also 2 center punched holes next to them if you ever needed to add more lines, you could easily drill and tap.
We have designed 2 standard mounting brackets, a flat and a 90 degree, which can be attached to the top or bottom of the pot to allow different mounting options.
We have designed two specific K-Series packages. One designed for PRB/K20 style cylinder heads and one for K24 style cylinder heads. These come with an upper coolant housing, custom fitting, and hose to connect the head to the top of the port. It also has brackets to mount the swirl pot to the top of the trans at the perfect height. The only thing you will need to do would be to run a hose from the bottom of the swirl pot to the top of the radiator.
You would need to plug/cap off your original radiator overflow port to prevent it from pulling air into the system or bleeding coolant. This can be done several ways. Ensure it is very secure as the coolant system is under incredible coolant pressure.
